UPDATED!!! 2020 Season COVID-19 Restrictions

After much discussion and deliberation with the governor's office, dirt tracks in Kansas have been granted the following:

Dirt Track racing may open in Phase 1.5 if:
*They are NOT an entertainment venue with a capacity (as determined by the business) of more than 2,000 individuals. Entertainment venues with a capacity of more than 2,000 individuals are prohibited until Phase Three of the Ad Astra Reopening Plan. Capacity is defined by the number of individuals at any one event, not potential occupancy;
*AND the they follow the business restrictions listed. This provision outlines the social distancing and public health guidelines required for the safe reopening of businesses.
Subject to further restriction at local levels.

81 Speedway has assured state officials we will abide by all policies and recommendations. PLEASE READ THESE CAREFULLY. We need all the help we can get to continue dirt track racing in Kansas during this pandemic.

We must adhere to social distancing procedures as recommended by the CDC and Sedgwick County:
• Stay at least 6 feet (about 2 arms’ length) from other people
• Do not gather in groups
• Stay out of crowded places and avoid mass gatherings
If you are sick or showing any virus symptoms (fever, cough, shortness of breath, chills, muscle pain, sore throat, new loss of taste or smell) please stay home.

The CDC also recommends that those who are higher risk take extra precautions and consider staying at home. These include:
• People 65 years and older
• People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility
People of all ages with underlying medical conditions, particularly if not well controlled, including:
• People with chronic lung disease or moderate to severe asthma
• People who have serious heart conditions
• People who are immunocompromised
o Many conditions can cause a person to be immunocompromised, including cancer treatment, smoking, bone marrow or organ transplantation, immune deficiencies, poorly controlled HIV or AIDS, and prolonged use of corticosteroids and other immune weakening medications
• People with severe obesity (body mass index [BMI] of 40 or higher)
• People with diabetes
• People with chronic kidney disease undergoing dialysis
• People with liver disease

We strongly recommend the use of face masks.

There will be NO co-mingling between the pit area and grandstands.
We will have limited hand sanitizer. Please bring your own to reapply.

Pits/Drivers:

• MUST complete track registration online prior to race day. https://www.myracepass.com/tracks/2893/registrations/
• Please claim your driver profile as well. This will help expedite check-in.
• Drivers must fill out a W9. Please print it from the following link, complete it, sign it, and turn it in at practice or your first race: https://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw9.pdf. Drivers will not be paid (cash) prize money without it on file.
• We need everyone’s transponder number. Please message us before race day if possible or have it ready at check-in.

USRA Drivers: Make sure you purchase your license ahead of time as tracks are no longer allowed to issue annual license. Go to www.USRAracing.com to get them.

Due to restricted attendance, pit passes for our May 30 weekly show MUST be purchased online. For the June 4 & June 7 races, it is HIGHLY RECOMMENDED that our local participants purchase their pit passes online. Until restrictions are lifted, pit passes can only be purchased by those affiliated with a participating race team.

Pit persons will still need to check in to sign the waiver and get a wristband. Remember: anyone under age 18 must have a parent/guardian signed release.

To limit contact, draw/redraw for all classes will be done through auto-draw on MyRacePass. Auto-draw cannot be manipulated by the speedway. If you have questions on that, please contact MyRacePass.

Hand sanitizer will be provided at the pit window and needs to be applied when signing in. We will be continuously disinfecting the surfaces at the pit window.

There will be no “live” drivers meeting. We will have the meeting typed up and will be handing the information out at check-in. Please review it carefully.

Please leave at least 10 feet between trailers.

Viewing platforms in the pit area will be marked for social distancing. No more than 15 on the platforms at one time. To help accommodate, please consider watching only your driver’s race from the platforms.

There will be no concessions in the pit area.

Grandstand Admission:

Limited to 1500 persons. Tickets will be sold online only. Due to the limited seating, general admission for weekly shows will be $12 for all ages. Special shows will be priced accordingly. Present your printed tickets or receipt on phone at the ticket window on race day.

Maximum 15 persons per group. Ushers will assist in seating families to ensure the social distancing guidelines are met. Please use open spaces when you leave and return to your seat to maintain personal space as much as possible.

No VIPs will be accepted. VIP passes will be addressed after state restrictions are lifted.

Concessions will be available in the grandstands. We will follow all guidelines set forth by the Kansas Department of Agriculture. Floor decals will be placed for social distancing. We encourage the use of credit/debit cards to minimize cash handling between individuals.

As a sanitary precaution, no chair backs will be rented out.

ANYONE NOT ABIDING TO THESE POLICIES WILL BE ASKED TO LEAVE WITHOUT REFUND!!
